Seizing chances to learn, share expertise and make connections

Rebecca DuprasComing on the heels of another successful SVGives and an exceptional Conference on Charitable Giving (COCG), we’re heading into third quarter with a full head of steam. For my part, it was a pleasure to connect with so many of you in our professional advisor network in person and to speak about the legal structure of charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities (“having your cake and eating it, too!”) at COCG. I hope you walked away with some useful tricks to help resolve planning challenges through life income gifts; as we here at SVCF grow our own planned giving services, I’m excited to see how we can continue to build on this as a sector.

Sharing my expertise with others and learning from all of you is what I enjoy most about my work, which is why I look forward to engaging in more opportunities to connect with you throughout the rest of 2016. Specifically, I hope you will bookmark the Innovation Conference on October 9-11 in San Francisco, where we will convene philanthropists, foundations, corporate social responsibility professionals and noted experts to explore how emerging technologies can be utilized for the good of all. Education, health, the new economy, big data, you name it – we are bringing together some of the top minds across multiple sectors to focus on this issue, and we hope you will be there to lend your perspective and make new connections.

I wish you a good summer, and I look forward to keeping you up to date on the latest news from SVCF.
