With our Philanthropy Now podcast series, we explore trends in the world of philanthropy, social impact initiatives in Silicon Valley and beyond, and look at how SVCF promotes innovative philanthropic solutions to challenging problems.
In this edition of our podcast, Silicon Valley Community Foundation is pleased to feature a conversation between Greg Avis and Nicole Taylor. Greg has been leading SVCF as interim president since April 30, and Nicole Taylor was named by the board of directors as the new CEO and president of SVCF in early November.
Nicole has a rich background in Bay Area philanthropy, nonprofit administration and fundraising, with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. She joins us from the Arizona State University Foundation. Nicole has also served as associate vice provost of student affairs at Stanford University, and as CEO of the East Bay Community Foundation, among other roles.
She sat down for this conversation with Greg in late November, and will start work at SVCF officially on December 19, 2018. Greg and Nicole discuss the origins of Nicole's passion for philanthropy and community-building, her early impressions of SVCF, and her thoughts on the current moment in American philanthropy.
