SJ Learns is an effort to expand after-school programs for children in kindergarten through grade three in San Jose who are most in need of this investment. Working with the office of San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, the SJ Learns Working Group is developing a road map for the city’s investment in innovative after-school programs with support from foundations, corporate and other private sector partners. The goal is to increase the number of high-quality after-school programs for students in San Jose.
Up to $500,000 in grants will be available through SJ Learns for organizations providing innovative after-school programs, Mayor Liccardo's office announced July 27. You can view the newly launched Request for Proposals here. An informational conference call about the RFP is schedule for Tuesday, July 28, at 3 p.m. To register for the call and learn more about the initiative, click here.
