Director, The Big Lift
Andrea leads The Big Lift Initiative for the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. The Big Lift is a bold social venture that aims to transform early learning through high-quality learning experiences from preschool to third grade, with the ultimate goal of children reading proficiently by third grade.
Prior to joining SVCF, Andrea was the executive director of Mouse_California, a nonprofit focused on providing project-based learning through technology to students in 60 school districts. Previously, Andrea worked for the YMCA of San Francisco in a variety of roles focused on supporting low-income youth and their families through education, enrichment, arts and social services programs including serving as executive director of the Tenderloin YMCA.
Andrea received a liberal arts degree from the University of New Mexico and holds a master’s degree in education from San Francisco State University. She lives in Redwood City, with her husband Jonathan and her daughter, Lyla.
