THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR SAN BENITO COUNTY TEAMS WITH SILICON VALLEY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO BETTER SERVE LOCAL NEEDS

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Silicon Valley Community Foundation has been chosen by the Community Foundation for San Benito County to be the investment manager for its $100,000 nonprofit investment fund.

In establishing this fund, the Community Foundation for San Benito County joins six other members of the community foundation’s affiliate program. The program allows residents of Gilroy, Los Altos, Morgan Hill, Palo Alto and Saratoga-Monte Sereno to achieve their philanthropy goals with the affiliate representing their community. Affiliate funds are not just limited to geographic locations. They can be created by organizations to address the needs of a particular group. Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley is an affiliate fund that supports non-profit organizations serving the Hispanic community.

“I am confident that pooling San Benito’s resources with the community foundation will allow us to make a greater impact on our local community,” said Gary Byrne, executive director of the Community Foundation for San Benito County. “I look forward to being part of the community foundation family.”

Additional benefits for affiliate funds can include technical assistance, information on operating a community foundation, fund and board development, staffing, fundraising, grantmaking and accounting.
