Anne F. Macdonald Joins Community Foundation Board of Directors
MOUNTAIN VIEW – Anne F. Macdonald, a partner at accounting and consulting firm Frank,
Rimerman & Co in Palo Alto, has joined the board of directors of Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
Macdonald has been in public accounting for more than 24 years and specializes in proactive planning
to minimize income, gift and estate tax for high net worth individuals and their families. She provides
stock option and qualified small business stock planning and has extensive experience in estate planning.
She also advises non-profit organizations in tax compliance and planning matters and works with real estate entities.
Her clients include CEOs and officers of public and pre-IPO companies, venture capitalists, real estate
developers and other entrepreneurs. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the California Society of CPA’s.
"We are excited that Anne has agreed to join our board," said Nancy H. Handel, chair of the community foundation’s
board of directors. "Her familiarity with charitable giving, tax issues for individuals and nonprofits, and her
experience as an adviser to private, public and non-profit organizations will be an invaluable asset."
Macdonald grew up on the Peninsula and attended Castilleja School in Palo Alto. She graduated from the University
of Oregon with an undergraduate degree in business administration. She obtained her master’s degree in taxation
from Golden Gate University.
The recipient of the 1995 Distinguished Alumnae Award from Castilleja School, Macdonald served as a trustee of
the school from 1995 to 2001. She now serves on Castilleja’s Development Committee and is Chair of Planned Giving.
The community foundation board of directors now has 21 members.
