Peninsula Partnership Leadership Council
The Peninsula Partnership provides staff support to the Leadership Council, a group of influential leaders from multiple disciplines whose mission is to formulate policies that meet the needs of children, youth and families in San Mateo County.

Community Schools Initiative
The Partnership is leading efforts to create a community school movement in San Mateo County. Community schools are institutions that take a holistic view of children’s learning, by not only providing a high-quality instructional program, but also by offering a wide range of on-site support, services and after-school activities to engage parents and communities in children’s learning.

School Readiness
The Partnership is the lead agency for San Mateo County’s school readiness initiative, called Learning Together. Funded by First 5, the initiative provides an array of support to children and families to ensure success in school, including home visitation, take-home book bags through Raising A Reader and quality early learning experiences for children through Kickoff to Kindergarten.

San Mateo County was one of the first communities in the country to systematically measure children’s readiness for school. The Partnership pioneered the development of an assessment model that is now being used in Santa Clara County and other communities.
