ARTS GRANTS: DALY CITY TO MOUNTAIN VIEW

Silicon Valley Community Foundation supports creative excellence, artistic diversity and youth involvement with the arts in our communities.

ARTS TEACHERS' FELLOWSHIP

This fellowship is part of a regional initiative in collaboration with three other Bay Area community foundations and the Surdna Foundation to support the artistic revitalization of outstanding arts teachers in Bay Area middle schools and high schools. Fellows will design individualized courses of study that foster their own creative work and the opportunity to interact with other professional artists in their fields.

In 2008, this program will award two fellowships of up to $5,000 each to art teachers in public middle and high schools in San Mateo and northern Santa Clara counties (Palo Alto, Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills), with a complementary grant of $1,500 to the fellow's school for post-fellowship activities. Fellowship awards may be used to defray the costs of tuition or fees, room and board, travel, purchase of materials and/or equipment for personal art-making, child care and other relevant expenses.
