Grantmaking Strategies
The community foundation has identified a series of Requests for Proposals,
or RFPs, that address five grantmaking strategies:
By using an RFP approach, the community foundation aims to solicit the
best thinking of nonprofit service providers,
public sector agencies, research institutions and other entities serving San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. We
encourage you to read the research papers to better understand our goals and objectives on each strategy.
Stay informed about the announcement of future requests for proposals by signing up for our
community e-newsletter.
How To Apply
The first step for any interested organization is to attend a grant
information session. This will give you the
opportunity to learn more about our RFP process and talk with a program officer.
Step two is to submit a proposal with all the required information outlined
in the RFP application checklist. We encourage submission of proposals via email.
If you have questions, please contact us at
grants@siliconvalleycf.org or 650.450.5400.
Eligibility Criteria and Deadlines
Please refer to the appropriate grantmaking strategy application. We will accept
proposals postmarked and submitted electronically by the respective deadline date. It takes approximately
four to six weeks to respond to these applications and an additional two weeks for grant disbursement.
