FINANCIAL DATA
Silicon Valley Community Foundation is the fourth largest community
foundation in the nation with more than $1.9 billion in assets under management and more than
1,500 philanthropic funds. Created through the landmark merger of Peninsula Community Foundation
and Community Foundation Silicon Valley, the new foundation received its IRS exemption in November
2006 and officially launched in January 2007. We operate on a calendar year.
The community foundation’s capacity to serve the community is directly tied to its ability
to preserve and enhance its financial assets. To ensure that the goals of the foundation continue
to be met, the Board of Directors has developed investment policies and guidelines that provide for
prudent asset management. An investment committee, comprised of board members and volunteers
knowledgeable in the investment field, oversees the investment activities of the foundation.
The tax identification number for Silicon Valley Community Foundation is 20-5205488.
