REBECCA SALNER
MEDIA RELATIONS OFFICER

Rebecca brings more than 20 years of media experience to Silicon Valley Community Foundation, where she helps implement communications strategy and acts as an interface between the community foundation and the media.
Before joining Silicon Valley Community Foundation in 2008, Rebecca supervised business and technology coverage at the San José Mercury News. Over the years, she was responsible for projects and investigations at the Mercury News and served as the food editor and city editor. Rebecca began her career in the media as a reporter at the San Francisco Examiner, where she covered criminal justice and regional issues on the Peninsula.

Rebecca has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from San Francisco State University. She has been a volunteer with Child Advocates of Santa Clara County. Born in Germany, Rebecca grew up in the East Bay and now lives in Campbell.
