MARIE YOUNG
Director, Donor Learning and Connection

As director of donor learning and connection, Marie is responsible for enabling a world-class donor services program, developing outreach strategies to attract and serve individual and institutional funders, and creating opportunities for connections between donors’ philanthropic missions and Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s priority interests.

From 2003 to 2008, Marie developed and managed child development and education programs for the Low Income Investment Fund, a national community development financial institution. Previously, Marie served as senior program manager in the Children, Families and Communities Program at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation from 1996 to 2003. Marie holds a Master of Social Work degree from University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Stanford University.

Marie lives in Los Altos with her husband, Cary. Her two grown children live and work in the Bay Area. Marie serves on the board of directors of the Community Health Awareness Council in Mountain View.
